It can be reached by clicking <Tools/Settings...> from main menu or by clicking related button from toolbar.

 

Some settings are valid for whole system and there is a db symbol near them. Other settings are valid for current computer.

 

General

 


Play List Sound Card:

It is the soundcard used by "Play List". It is recommended that the same card must be assigned for Play List and Test. So, the play lists can be listened (tested) without giving the output on-air.
 

 

Test Sound Card:

 

A sound card used for test player which is targetted to PFL (Pre-Fade Listening).


Computer Description:

Description of current computer (ON-AIR PC, Production PC, Backup PC etc.). This description is used when displaying "Server Connection Status".

Audio Storage Options:

It is a button opening the window where the settings related to audio format conversions before storing to database.
 

 

Audio Reading Method:

It is a button opening the window where the method of access to audio files (under the directory SoleaMusic) is selected. In case of the computer is not the computer where the Solea Server runs, "Direct File Access" method is recommended.
 


Color Settings:

You can click this button to adjust the colors of the broadcast panel.
 


Sound Card Access Method:

Some sound cards having multi-channel support (M-Audio, Lynx, Marc etc.) don't work healty when their all channel are accessed.
For this purpose, 3 options are presented. For those type of sound cards option 2 must be prefferred.
M-Audio sound cards lose their play function when playing is interrupted for a moment. Option 3 will submit a solution to this situation.
For other sound cards (stereo, 5+1, 7+1), option 1 can be prefferred.
 

 

Serial Port Settings:

Update Song Broadcast Times:

Unless this option is selected, "Last Broadcasted Date Time" information is not updated while the songs are broadcasted.

Write Played Items To Log:

Unless this option selected, broadcasted items (songs, slogans, commercials etc.) are not added to log.

Always Enable <play next row> option:

 

By checking this option, you will satisfy that the "play next row" light () in broadcast panel cannot be forgotten as turned-off () . After the the light is turned off manually, broadcast will stop after currently playing row finishes. When another row is played from the broadcast plan, this light will be turned on automatically.
 

 

Show Expired Items:

Expired songs are normally shown as strike-out. This is an advantage for the users responsible for managing archieve. They can always see which songs are expired and they can change expiration dates whenever they need. However, this type of appearence may causes display pollution for users on broadcast. In order to make expired songs invisible (instead of seeing them as striked-out) you can un-check this option.

 

 

Extend Main Window to 2nd monitor:

When the Windows' desktop is extended to a 2nd monitor (dual monitor usage), this option affects whether the main window of the Solea must occupy the whole desktop or only one monitor. If you checked this option, you must also select a suitable panel style from the <Radio Module> tab.

Consider Similarities:

Similar songs, similar slogans and groupped artists can be considered by Solea. For example; broadcasting a duet from "Madonna - A. Banderas" will cause both Madonna and  A. Banderas are considered to be broadcasted. Although it is a useful feature, its related database operations are slower. Broadcast performance of Solea will decrease a little bit.
 

 

Font:

It is used for setting the name, size and color of the font which is used in the list and the definition windows.

Volume Decrase on Voice Mode:

It is a parameter related to the audio items which intend to be played over a song (e.g acapella, voice record etc.). Volume decrease percentage of the base song while such audio items are played is set by this option.
 

 

Enable double click on Lists:

If this option is checked, the double clicked row on lists (Groupped List, Quick List, File List etc.) will be inserted into Broadcast List or Play List.

Period for being "Just Played":

It is the period of being just played in terms of hour. Songs and performers which are played in that period will be displayed as grayed in lists e.g. Groupped List, Quick List.
 


Adding File Options:

It determines whether Parameter Calculation will be made or not when an audio file is added to broadcast lists.
 

 

Default Location:

It determines which location will be considered in Broadcast History.

History Mode (for Past):

It determines which data will be used for detecting the songs played or planned in the past while displaying Broadcast History, making Automatic Row Selection.
 
Recommeded option is "Broadcast Log". If the Solea is not used for broadcast (it is used for just making broadcast lists with Play List or Broadcast Plan method) one of the other 2 options can be preffered.

History Mode (for Future):

It determines which data will be used for detecting the songs will be played in future (planned for future) while displaying Broadcast History, making Automatic Row Selection.
Depending on the method which the broadcast lists are prepared (Play List veya Broadcast Plan) one of the 2 options can be prefferred.
 







Radio Module
 

 

On-Air Sound Card:

It is the sound card used by the player on Radio On-Air Panel.
 

 

Panel Style:

Appearence of the Radio On-Air Panel can be preffered here.
 

 

Confirm playing by double clicking:

Write-To-File Settings:

 

It is a button opening the window where the settings about writing the current playing item to a file (to display for RDS, web site etc.) and writing all played items to files (named due to months).
 


Streaming Settings:

 

It is a button opening the window where the settings about streaming. You can stream the broadcast to a network or internet. During this operation, sound cards are not considered, digital sound data is streamed directly after converting to the desired format.

Late Broadcast Limit:

It is the time in minutes for retarding the Planned Tasks and Weekly Tasks. Tasks exceeding the planned time as this limit are forgotten (not broadcasted). For example; if this limit is 15, the play list planned to 20:00:00 can be brodcasted up to 20:15:00. If it is postponed to a time greater than 20:15:00, it is forgotten.

Early Broadcast Limit:

It is the time in seconds for making earlier the Planned Tasks and Weekly Tasks. For example; if you specify 60 for this option, the commercials planned for 20:00:00 can be broadcasted from 19:59:00 (as soon as the current playing item finishes on On-Air List).

Always Enable <Automatic> Option:

 

When a row is played in Broadcast List, "automatic" light  () of Planned Tasks of Radio On-Air Panel will be turned on if this option is checked. This feature will prevent forgetting <automatic> light turned off ().

Slogan Box

 


"Slogan Box" Sound Card:

 

If this option is checked, an confirmation is required when a row in the broadcast list is double clicked.

 


Font:

It is used for setting name and size of the slogan buttons in Broadcast panels.

 


Switch to Voice Mode when slogan button is pressed:

It determines whether voice mode will be started or not (volume of the playing row will be decreased or not) when slogan buttons on broadcast panels are clicked.

 
 


Pause playing row when slogan button is pressed:
 

It determines whether the playing row will be paused or not when slogan buttons on broadcast panels are clicked.

 


Play more than one at the same time:

If this option is checked, you can click more than one slogan buttons and they can be played at the same time.

 


Shortcut Keys:
 

If this option is checked, it behaves as if related button is clicked when a key between 0 - 9 is pressed (with or without CTRL key).
