In this part, you will learn how to make "Automatic Song Selection". "Automatic Slogan Selection" is similar to automatic song selection and will not be mentioned here.
You can read Slogan Categories page after learning automatic song selection.
For song scheduling, you must use the Template Module of Solea.
This module may not take place in all licensed versions. If you are not licensed with Professional or Enterprise packages, you can not see and use the menu items and windows belonging to this module. By the way, you must know that the unlicensed (trial) versions have all the features of Solea.
"Automatic song selection" basically happens in 3 steps.
1) Defining Song Categories: You can read Song Categories page.
2) Determining Content of Categories: You can read Category Pool page.
3) Creating and Planning Template Rows:
We can call a row containing category information instead of song Template Row. During automatic song selection, most appropriate song will be selected into that row from its category pool.
Before starting this operation, you must have decided the Radio Panel you will use for broadcast.
If you will use "Radio On-Air Panel" then read List Based Selection else if you will use "Radio On-Air Panel (Pro) then read Clock Based Selection parts.
List Based Selection:
Check the Tools/Settings/General/History Mode values. For future "Play Lists" must be selected.
You can apply following steps for creating template rows in a play list.
•Create a new Play List.
•Open Song Categories window.
•Drag the desired category from Song Categories window and drop on to play list window.
•Repeat the operation above as much as you want, then save the play list.
You can apply following steps for planning and the filling the template rows in a play list.
•Open Weekly Tasks (Radio) or Weekly Tasks (Multi-Broadcast) window depending on broadcast type.
•Plan the playlist as mentioned in Weekly Tasks page.
Notes:
•When the planned play list executed, all the template rows will be filled automatically.
•You can prepare and plan many play lists for the days and hours you want.
•You can use popup menu on Song Categories window for creating template row in a play list.
•Without planning the play list, you can open it in the On-Air list, then you can fill the template rows by clicking button manually.
•You can create template rows without creating any play list. For doing this you can make drag & drop between Song Categories window and On-Air List.
•On-Air List will attempt to go back to the 1st row after playing last row. At this moment different songs will be selected into all template rows in the list and played from the 1st row.
•If you think a playlist to fill manually (instead of automatic filling as before as it is broadcasted), save and broadcast in future, you must make some settings. Click button, set Date/Time value. If you think broadcast it in a Hotel Location, set Location value also. Then fill the template rows. So, prior play lists having Date/Time in future will be notified (their selected songs will be considered as broadcasted).
Clock Based Selection:
Check the Tools/Settings/General/History Mode values. For future "Broadcast Plan" must be selected.
You can apply following steps for creating template rows in a clock template.
•Create a new Clock Template.
•Open Song Categories window.
•Drag the desired category from Song Categories window and drop on to right pane of the clock template window.
•Repeat the operation above as much as you want, then save the clock template list.
You can apply following steps for planning and the filling the template rows in a clock template.
•Create a new Week Template.
•Select clock templates to right pane (7x24 table) of the week template.
•Determine "Default Week Template".
Notes:
•If you don't prepare broadcast plan, Solea will apply (automatically adds template rows and select songs for them) the corresponding clock template in default week template for the clock to play.
•---
Notes:
You can open popup menu on a template row and click "Select Matching Song" for selecting another appropriate song.
In Multi-Broadcast Module, there is a magic feature called Virtual List which maintains song scheduling without needing any category and play list.
