New Features Introduced with Solea4

You can download the latest version from the Downloads page.

Dear broadcasters; We are proud to introduce the new version of our product, which has been successfully used since May 2002 by more than 500 radio stations and over 300 hotels and business centers.

Our v4 development project, which started in 2009, reached a significant stage in 2013, and the new product was gradually introduced to approximately 30 radio stations. Based on the feedback received from these stations, deficiencies were completed, bugs were fixed, and the product became fully ready for stable use.

Main Innovations

Multi-Language Database Support
Solea3 had a UNICODE-enabled user interface. However, since the database it used did not support UNICODE, it could support at most 2 languages (English + the local Windows language).

This problem was solved in Solea4 by using a different database system.
Advanced Search in Databases and Interfaces
Thanks to a new technology used in Solea4, search operations performed within databases or open windows consider similar letters (ş-s, ç-c, ü-u, etc.) and similar word forms (bumu - bu mu, sende - sen de, etc.).

Increased Database Access Speed
Thanks to changes made in the database design, up to 10 times faster read/write performance has been achieved.

Bidirectional Communication Between Client and Server
In traditional client-server architectures, all operations are initiated by the client side. The server performs no action unless requested by clients. Each client periodically queries the server to detect database changes. Therefore, changes may take 3-10 seconds to become visible on client computers.

With an architecture most likely unique to Solea, any change made by a client in the database is instantly announced by the server to all other clients, allowing them to refresh immediately.
Panel Designer

In Solea3, users could create customized appearances by changing the colors of Radio and Hotel Panels.
Nowadays, increasing screen resolutions have increased the demand for designs optimized for individual user preferences.

With the "Panel Designer" tool introduced in Solea4, existing radio panel designs can be modified, and completely new designs can be created. The positions and sizes of objects on the panel (date, time, player, broadcast list, etc.) can be changed, new objects can be added, and existing objects can be removed.

The "Slogan Box" and "Player" objects can be customized in detail.

The number of buttons in the "Slogan Box" can be increased from 20 to 30, and the number of pages from 15 to 30. Button sizes and layouts can also be customized.

Each component in the "Player" object (counters, indicators, control bars) can be individually customized.

"Multi-Category" Feature
Tracks and slogans can now belong to and be played from multiple categories (more than 100 if desired). This feature became one of the important advantages that distinguishes Solea from its competitors.
Other Innovations
  • A highly durable database system was used. If a power outage occurs during a write operation, partial or complete database corruption is unavoidable. In Solea4, database verification and repair operations can be completed within seconds. To protect against unrecoverable damage, Solea automatically backs up the database file at regular intervals (at least once per day). In the worst-case scenario, the system can revert to this backup.

  • Automatic track/slogan selection speed for playlists was improved by nearly 10 times.

  • New fields such as "Playback Style", "Gender", "Mood", and "Arranger" were added to track information.

  • The Artists structure from V3 was divided into two groups: "Performers" and "Other Artists".

  • WinAmp DSP plugins can now be used internally.

  • The FadeOut value can now be different from the MixOut value.
