Technical Features

Features that will distinguish Solea from similar softwares with a thicker line can be collected in 4 main groups.

Database Usage: It saves the user from struggling with music files. You do not have to know the location (folder) of the music you are looking for. You can quickly get to a song and/or a song group that you want. For instance, 1-2 seconds are enough to see the songs which was released between 1980 and 1990 and which are in slow tempo.

100% Server Assisted Access over the Network: While Solea provides access over the network, does not use the file sharing mechanism of the operating system (Windows) . For instance, you don't have to share any folder on main computer to add a new album to your database from a remote machine. You can access a Solea server over the Internet or local network, you can add new songs, commercials, slogans to the database, you can program the broadcast flow. This feature also makes it possible that the all security is maintained by Solea. Otherwise, your shared folders may be accidentally or deliberately deleted. It is not possible to talk about the security of systems based on file sharing mechanism.

Duplex Communication Between Client and Server: In the traditional client-server architecture, all operations are initiated by the client side. The server will not take any action unless requested by the clients. Each client queries the server periodically to be notified of changes to the database. Because of this, it may take 3-10 seconds for changes to be reflected in the clients. Due to an architecture which was used in probably only Solea, the change made by any client in the database is immediately reported to all other clients by the server, so that the clients renew their interfaces.

Easy Backup: The size of a 50,000-piece music archive almost equal to the size of the database on a bank. The bigger the data, the greater the danger of disappearance (MURPHY rule). No precautions in the world can guarantee that the data will not be lost. For this reason the most guaranteed the solution is to preserve a backup of the data. The length of the backup time drives users to take backups less frequently. Due to "Differential Backup" support of Solea, only the changed part of the database is copied. This process does not exceed 1 to 2 minutes when it is applied daily. Without this feature, the backup of the entire database (in a database having 20,000 songs) would take 4-5 hours for each time. An application (SoleaBkp) that automatically performs the backup process is provided free of charge.

The only software in the world that has all of the features mentioned above is Solea.

Other technical features of Solea:

A Server side embedded SQLite database . This database does not require installation, has multi-language (UNICODE) support, can store millions of records, is robust and reliable.

One 60+ GB SSD disk, One 500+ GB normal disk. (The SSD disk will be used for fast access to the database. 2+ GB of it will be partitioned as D: disk, remaining part (58- GB) of it will be partitioned as C: disk, . The operating system will be installed in the C: partition, and Solea's database file will be configured in the D: partition. The other disk will be partitioned as E: and will be used for storing audio files.)
Broadcasting Side:
Dual Monitor supported, 1280x768+ resolution graphic card and monitor(s)
2 sound cards or 1 multi-output sound card (One for broadcasting, the other for pre-listening. The one for broadacating must be noiseless and balanced.)
