- Where does the name "Solea" come from?
"Solea" is the name of a form in flamenco art. Flamenco art belongs to the Andalusian region of Spain. It is performed with dance, song and guitar.
- Can I use Solea at no charge?
Except for commercial purposes (in commercial establishments such as radio, hotels, business centers, restaurants, cafes, etc.),
you can comfortably use all of Solea's features at no charge.
The only restriction here is that the Radio and Multi-Broadcast panels work in DEMO mode (up to 2.5 hours).
You will not need these panels anyway when playing musics in your archive at home/at work, .
Instead of using these panels, you can play and listen to your musics in a smooth way by using the "Play List" screen.
Solea has a lot of possibilities for archiving, querying, backing-up, track mixing, DSP, etc.
it will provide advantages, even it will cause an addiction.
- What kind of audio files does Solea support?
Solea can store audio files to database in MP2, MP3, MP4, OGG, WMA, FLAC, AAC+ and WAV formats,
can play audio files in CDA, MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, OGG, WMA, FLAC, APE, AAC+, AC3 and WAV formats.
- Can I change the panel designs in Solea?
Yes. You can change the views of the radio panels by using Solea's Panel Designer tool.
With this tool, you can add and remove panel's components (Slogan Box, Broadcast List, Date, Time, Player, etc.),
you can change the size and location of them.
You can also create and use new designs outside existing designs.
The colors of the components in the active panel can be changed from the Tools/Settings window of Solea.
- How do I start Solea without entering the User Name and Password?
If you are accepting compromising security, you can add the u (user code) and p (password) parameters in the properties section of the Solea shortcut.

- Can I work with more than one music archive on Solea?
Yes. Different databases can be defined for different archives by using the settings window of the Solea Server.
Solea server can serve 8 databases at the same time.
Solea users can select and use any of these databases.
This should be done by clicking on <System/Connect to another database...> in Solea's main menu.
if only 1 database is defined in the server, this option will not be active.
- How can I back up the information I have entered Solea?
Download Solea Backup application for this action.
After running SoleaBackup, set the Source and Destination directory settings.
If you press the <Start> button on the "Backup" tab of this application, the operation will be performed automatically.
When a backup is taken for the first time, all files in the source directories will be copied to the destination directories.
After that, every time you take backups, only the files that have changed/newly added will be copied,
deleted files will be removed from the backup.
Backing up an archieve containing even 100 thousands of song will not exceed 1-2 minutes.
- How can I access a database existing on another computer by using my own computer?
The first time you run Solea or when you click the <System/Connect to another server...> option Solea's main menu,
a server selection window will appear.
You can enter here the name or IP address of the computer which you want to connect (which SoleaServer runs on it).
So, you can listen the audios, manage the information available on an other computer without having no data on your computer.
- How can I change the order of commercial spots for future date?
Open the "Spot Module/Daily Tasks" window, filter the date range what you want and click the <Refresh> button.
Next, click the "Date-Time" option from the ComboBox which is placed at the bottom bar.
Finally, change the placements of the commercial spots by using drag & drop method.
- Solea does not play anything on my M-AUDIO sound card. How can I solve this problem?
Solea can play back from 32 sound cards at the same time. Driver of M-AUDIO doesn't allow initiliazing
more than one output at the same time.
If you are using an operating system prior to Windows Vista: After opening the "M Audio Delta Control Panel"
application (it appears at the right corner of the Windows Task Bar, or in the Windows Control Panel),
go to <Hardware Settings> page and set MultiTrack Driver Devices option to Independent.
Finall click <Done> button. Problem will be solved.
This option is not availbale in Windows Vista and later operating systems.
You can select the "option 3" from "Tools/Settings/General/Sound Card Access Method" ComboBox to solve the problem.
- Can I send track information to the Omnia Stream Encoder?
Yes. Open "Tools/Settings/Radio Module/Write-To-File Settings" window from the main menu.
Select a configuration between 1 - 8, and check <Enabled> option for that configuration.
Select "Web Streaming (txt)" option by clicking <Restore Defaults> button.
Select Http-Get option from the "Target" ComboBox.
